the family of Frazier Baker, who was a Black schoolteacher in Lake City, South Carolina, appointed to White folks were mighty upset about his appointment. So they murdered him and his baby daughter, while attempting to kill his entire family. It is a miracle that the rest of his family pictured above, survived.
Failures to get convictions for white supremacist crimes against Black people continues. Black “history” is also our current day Black reality.
In 2019, 121 years after his lynching, the post office in Lake City was renamed in his honor. Congressman Jim Clyburn of South Carolina was interviewed for this story, and he talked about the fact that he didn’t know this history.
